Not an April Fool’s Day joke
New site, who dis? It’s been some time since I wrote anything about design or UX. I asked if users need to be made more aware of default browsers (maybe I was right though some disagree). While design style is subjective and trendy, like skeuomorphic vs flat UI design (that was a fun debate) good design is about effectively solving a problem for users, for business, and within scope of time/money. A friend reminded me that not all design is so spartan and minimalist. For product, it depends on the market, but it’s usually the marketing teams who get to have all the fun.
In the meantime, thanks to the friends and colleagues who taught me everything and the managers who gave me a job each time I was downsized, right-sized, terminated, off-shored, or quit for a more interesting (and likely higher-paying) job.
